Ancient Hallway

This is a hallway of an ancient temple. The model is only 1000 faces, and makes great use of normal mapping. On the top right you can see a 3D mesh with some basic lighting. On the top left, I experimented with mood and normal maps. The final render is at the bottom.

Deadpool Cell Painting

In my History of Animation class, we were assigned to paint a chosen character(s) on acetate from existing line art and reference. So I found a great deadpool line art and started to hack away with the brush. Here is what it looks like right now:

Character Design

Karakuma is my new character and he is a Tribal Necromancer/Warrior.
There was once a great empire that collapsed long ago and it's remnants were scattered. The remnants turned to more primitive way of life after the secrets to magic have been lost. However, great ruins still stand and retain powerful artifacts. The character himself found such artifacts, the armor and the skull. Yet he used more primitive materials for other clothing (bone bracers and skull for face mask).

Advanced Rigging

During my Semester 2 3D modeling class, I was introduced to advanced rigging techniques. Such as IK controls and Muscle bones.
I will post a video of it in action later on.

Matte Painting

Here is my first attempt at a Matte Painting:

3D Animation

My traditional animation class from first semester transformed to 3D animation in the second. We primarily used a rig called Jorge to make a strictly timed animations. The first few animations weren't overly fun, due to limited freedom. We were assigned to animate a certain action. However, I did enjoy working on the last animation.

Traditional Animation - Sam The Fat Cat

This is a final project of my Traditional Animation class.

Big Bear Chopper

The final project of the first semester was to model a vehicle. I decided to model a Big Bear Copper. These bikes are very detailed and have great overall design.

Speed Paining

This was my favorite part of the Photoshop class. The idea is to finish the painting in a certain amount of time. The painting itself doesn't have to be detailed, as long as it can give the viewer general mood and feeling.

Fruit Bowl

My second 3D project was much more interesting and challenging. Fruit bowl, sounds simple? Not so, takes a lot of time to make a photo realistic set.

Introduction to digital painting

Another photoshop project - paint a cloud. Fun and pretty simple:

Deep Space

In our photoshop class, we've been introduced to a few tricks. I found it quite useful, since I can make my own desktop backgrounds from that moment on.

First Year - First project

As the first semester began, I've been assigned my first project - make a household object. I wasn't overly thrilled about it however. I considered it quite boring, due to a low difficulty.

Exploring Normal Maps

Right before I began my first year at Humber, I though that I should hone my skills and invest in learning normal maps. I developed an orc concept, but did not get far:

Marker Drawings

Soon after, I moved to a different medium - concept markers. As I started producing sketches and concept work, I became quite proficient.

Traditional Painting

Before I started to utilize Photoshop as my permanent 2D medium, I tapped into traditional painting. I've never drawn anything gallery-worthy, but my experience with paint gave me a strong base for the study of lighting. This is a painting I copied from Victor Vasnesov, "Vityaz na Rasputie":

If you are wondering what this is about, no it's definitely not a graveyard. In Russian folklore, there are several heroes with slightly supernatural powers (increased strength, speed and intelligence). The hero depicted on the paining is Ilia Muromes looking at a milestone for directions.

Pre-historic Characters

I started exploring the world of 3D before I came to Humber (I wasn't anywhere close to where I am now of course). I applied my knowledge to my high school presentations (bubonic plague) and if I had some spare time, I would create very unprofessional looking characters. Among them was Charon:
I was just starting to learn about rigging ad you can see that on crooked fingers.
